Click Here for Roster:  Class A – Room # 115

  • Begins June 19th and concludes July 14th at Westover High School.
  • Classes will meet Monday – Thursday mornings from 8:00 until 11:00 a.m.  Students must be picked up at school promptly at 11:00 a.m.  If you are late in picking up your student you run the risk of them being dropped from the course.
  • Students are expected to attend all class meetings.  Any student that misses over one class session runs the risk of being dropped from the program.  Students must be in attendance 3 hours a day, for 10 days, totaling 30 hours.  Students must also complete and pass all assigned course work in order to pass the classroom phase and advance to the behind-the-wheel phase.  Tardies and leaving early will be counted against you.  3 tardies/leaving early = 1 absence.   There are no excused or unexcused absences in Driver Education.
  • If you have perfect attendance your last day of the classroom phase will be July 6th.
  • There will be no Driver Education classes July 1st – July 4th.
  • July 10th is a make-up day for one class session.
  • Due to the large class size from the Spring 2 Sessions we have a backlog of students waiting to drive.  We will not be able to schedule many of the students taking this class for the Driving Phase.  After the class begins students will be given a conflict sheet to be filled out for driving during the months of July and August.
  • If you attend more than 6 hours of the classroom phase of Driver Education and drop out or you fail the course, you are not eligible to enroll again with the Cumberland County Schools.  The Driver Education fee is non-refundable.
  • A fee of $65.00 or a reduced fee of $32.50 shall be collected from each student.  The fee must be in the form of a money order or a cashier/certified check made payable to Cumberland County Schools.  Personal checks will not be accepted.  Please No Cash!
  • To qualify for the reduced fee you must be enrolled in the free-and-reduced meal program with the Cumberland County Schools Child Nutrition Department.  The student must bring a Letter of Approval from Child Nutrition along with the fee of $32.50.  The Letter of Approval MUST be requested prior to the last day of school.  The Letter of Approval CANNOT be printed after the last day of school.  Any student who does not have the Letter of Approval will be issued a “Student Eligibility” form which must be completed by a parent/guardian and returned to the Driver Education Instructor.
  • The fee will be collected by the driver education teacher on the first day of class.  There are no exceptions or refunds!  If the student does not bring the required fee on the first day of class, he/she will not be admitted to class.
