SP 2 – WOHS

  • Begins April 9th and concludes May 14th at Westover High School.
  • Class will meet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:40 until 5:40 p.m.
  • Students must be picked up at school promptly at 5:40 p.m.  If you are late in picking up your student you run the risk of them being dropped from the course.
  • Home School and Private School students must bring a copy of your birth certificate and Social Security Card on the first day of class.
  • Students must be in attendance for of 30 hours of class, also complete and pass all assigned coursework in order to pass the classroom phase and advance to the Behind the Wheel phase.  Tardies and leaving early will be counted against you.  3 tardies/leaving early = 1 absence.  There are no excused or unexcused absences in Driver Education.  Any student who misses more the one class session runs the risk of being dropped from the program.  Students absent from school during the regular school day may not attend afternoon driver education classes.
  • If you attend more than 4 hours of the classroom phase of Driver Education and drop out or you fail the course you are not eligible to enroll again with Cumberland County Schools.
  • A fee of $65.00 or a reduced fee of $32.50 shall be collected from each student.  The fee must be in the form of a money order made payable to Cumberland County Schools (personal checks will not be accepted)Please, no cash.  This fee will be collected by the driver education teacher on the first day of class.  There are no exceptions or refunds!  If the student does not bring the required fee on the first day of class, he/she will not be admitted to class.
  • In order to qualify for the reduced fee of $32.50, you must be enrolled in the free-and-reduced meal program with the Cumberland County Schools Child Nutrition Services.  The student must bring a Letter of Approval from Child Nutrition along with the fee of $32.50.  Any student who does not have the Letter of Approval will be issued a “Student Eligibility” form which must be completed by a parent/guardian and returned to the Driver Education Instructor.
